County Notebook: Fall Fair ambulance contract approved, courthouse bids reviewed

The Creek County Board of Commissioners worked through a largely routine agenda Monday, approving several annual contracts and administrative items while delaying a decision on a courthouse repair project.

One of the board’s more notable actions was approving a contract with Creek County Ambulance to provide a dedicated EMS unit on standby during this year’s Creek County Fall Fair. Assistant District Attorney Andrew Goforth confirmed he had reviewed the agreement before commissioners unanimously approved it.

Commissioners also approved a new juvenile detention agreement with Seminole County for the 2026-27 fiscal year. Under the contract, Creek County will pay $95 per day for each juvenile housed at the facility.

The board accepted bids for a project to replace the courthouse cooling tower and repair the courthouse water reservoir tank. Service Tech Cooling Towers and Vision Air Services LLC each submitted proposals, but commissioners voted to delay awarding the contract until next week’s meeting to allow time for review.

In other business, the board approved June monthly reports from the Assessor, County Clerk, Court Clerk, District Attorney, Election Board, Health Department, Sheriff and Treasurer, along with routine budget transfers and purchase orders.

Commissioners also approved two resolutions replacing Jana Thomas with Candace Sontag as the requisitioning and receiving officer for several commissioners’ payroll-related accounts.

The board ratified a payment processing contract between the County Clerk’s Office and CSG Forte Payments for the 2026-27 fiscal year and approved a ONE Gas utility permit to install a ¾-inch natural gas pipeline beneath a county road in District 2.

There was no new business, no discussion regarding American Recovery Plan funds and no public comments before the meeting adjourned. Commissioners are scheduled to meet again Monday, July 20.
