Sapulpa’s City Council gathered to show their appreciation to Kent Daniel for his efforts with the City’s flower program this year.

At the Monday, November 21st City Council meeting, Mayor Craig Henderson and Vice-Mayor Carla Gunn posed with Daniel as he held a proclamation complimenting him on his work.

Daniel’s consistent application gave Sapulpa one of the best flower programs in the state this season—a feat made even more outstanding given the severity of the drought that the county has dealt with over the summer.

The long hot days didn’t deter Daniel from his work, which often started at 2:30 am in the morning, where he could be found watering the super-petunias that adorned baskets and planters all over downtown. His rigorous schedule and determination did not go unnoticed. Other cities, such as nearby Jenks and Collinsville took notice, many of which asked him to institute a program in their town. Daniel has been hesitant about taking any other work, primarily because he believes Sapulpa should get the best of what he has to offer.

The proclamation awarded to Kent Daniel on Monday reads as follows:

WHEREAS, Kent Daniel and Daniel’s Lawn Care have displayed selfless dedication and commitment to the maintenance and upkeep of Sapulpa’s downtown beautification program; and

WHEREAS, Kent Daniel displayed the belief that Sapulpa’s historic downtown is one of our most important assets; and WHEREAS, Kent Daniel’s dedication to downtown’s amazing flower program was enjoyed by the citizens of Sapulpa as well as its many visitors from around the world. Daniel’s Lawn Care exhibited the overwhelming dedication to presenting Sapulpa as a world-class city to our many visitors both foreign and domestic traveling Route 66; and

WHEREAS, Kent Daniel and Daniel’s Lawn Care displayed a dedication to the ideal that a beautiful downtown serves everyone, that a beautiful downtown grows business and that a beautiful downtown is a source of pride for all of Sapulpa’s citizens. Thanks to Kent’s tireless efforts that pride was on display for people from around the world to enjoy.

Now Therefore, I, Craig Henderson, Mayor of the City of Sapulpa, do hereby proclaim that

October 26th, 2022, to be
