The Chieftains play their first home game of the season on Friday against the Edison Eagles at 7 p.m., looking to bounce back after their hard-fought 53-26 loss against the Sandites last week.

Friday's Hwy 97 rivalry game will be the first game for head coach Tim Holt Jr., who is returning to his home school to coach the Chieftains.

Holt led the Coweta Tigers to the playoffs for three straight years while earning the 2017 5A-III District Coach of the Year award.

Borgstadt, who has has led the Sapulpa Chieftains for the last five years, says he's stepping back to spend more time with family.

What began as a battle of unbeaten teams became more of a minor skirmish as the Ponies destroyed the Trojans 64-0.
