May is a super busy month for gardeners. Conditions are great to get everything in good shape and ready to withstand the hot summer temperatures. This is the time to get new plants in the ground and protect those that we already have, if they survived our winter blast!

Among the nastier pests in our area, bagworms get top billing. These little brown “bags” will suddenly appear in huge numbers in late June.

Beautiful, blooming plants attract various pollinators in our area. Bright, colorful flowers are sure to attract a number of many Oklahoma butterflies.
