Several seats for municipal office are up for election next year, including five from Sapulpa’s City Council, according to a statement from the Creek County Election Board.
In addition to the Declaration of Candidacy, candidates must also submit a Voter Registration Verification Form, which can be obtained from the County Election Board or by logging into the OK Voter Portal. Information on the Voter Registration Verification Form must match the information provided on the Declaration of Candidacy.
Candidates who are interested in filing for municipal office in Creek County will need to file their declarations of Candidacy beginning December 4th at 8 a.m. They will have until 5 p.m. on December 6th to file in order to be considered for the ballot next year.
Candidate filing packets are available on the State Election Board website and at the County Election Board.
Vicki Martin, Secretary of the CREEK County Election Board, reminds candidates that Contests of Candidacy must be filed no later than 5 p.m. Friday, December 8th and may only be filed by another candidate for that office, unless a candidate files unopposed. Contests against unopposed candidates may be filed by contacting the County Election Board.
Declarations of Candidacy will be accepted for the following offices:
- City of Drumright, Seat 2
- City of Drumright, Seat 4
- City of Sapulpa, Seat 2 – Ward 1
- City of Sapulpa, Seat 2 – Ward 2
- City of Sapulpa, Seat 2 – Ward 3
- City of Sapulpa, Seat 2 – Ward 4
- City of Sapulpa, Seat 2 – Ward 5
The Creek County Election Board is located at 230 E. Hobson Ave, Sapulpa, OK 74066 and is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
