BRISTOW, Okla. — Becky Leigh, longtime Bristow 4-H leader, was recently named the 2026 Creek County 4-H Volunteer of the Year in recognition of more than a decade of service and dedication to local youth.
The annual award recognizes an individual whose leadership, service and commitment have made a lasting impact on the Creek County 4-H program. Leigh was selected by her fellow 4-H volunteers, a testament to the respect and appreciation she has earned throughout the county.
For more than 10 years, Leigh has served Creek County 4-H in a variety of roles, including Bristow 4-H Club leader, project leader and active member of the 4-H Parent-Volunteer Association. Through each of these roles, she has consistently worked to create meaningful opportunities for young people to learn, lead and serve.
Under Leigh’s leadership, the Bristow 4-H Club has become a strong example of the opportunities 4-H can provide young people. Members are encouraged to take on leadership roles, participate in community service, explore new interests and develop confidence and life skills.
Community service has been an especially important part of Leigh’s leadership. Through her guidance, Bristow 4-H members have partnered with organizations throughout the community, giving young people opportunities to serve others and make a positive difference in their hometown.
Leigh has also played an important role in the success of the Creek County 4-H poultry program, helping provide livestock-related opportunities to youth who might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in a traditional livestock project.
This is not Leigh’s first time receiving the county’s top volunteer honor. She was previously named Creek County 4-H Volunteer of the Year in 2022. Her commitment to the program, however, has continued to grow, and she remains a dependable source of encouragement and support for 4-H members, families and fellow volunteers.
“Becky leads with dedication and serves with heart,” said Creek County 4-H Educator Randi Myers-Hill. “She truly believes in the difference 4-H can make in a young person’s life, and she continues to show up and make that difference year after year.”
Leigh was recognized for the honor at the 2026 Creek County 4-H Achievement Banquet.
