You might know Carolina from his Toasted Wine Fruit Spreads, which won the TCC Startup Cup in 2013, and have since grown to being sold across Oklahoma and Arkansas in more than 35 stores.

Carolina realized that not only could he bring people great food through his fruit spreads, but he could also inspire people with his story of growing up with a single mother and his journey to becoming an entrepreneur.

This led to the book he’ll be signing on Tuesday, The Absent Father.

The book follows his relationship or lack thereof with his father when he was younger and how their relationship has improved over the past few years.

In addition to sharing the emotional events that happened through his lack of an active father, Carolina inspires readers by showing them that just because a person does not have an active father, does not mean that that person cannot be successful.

Single mothers, children and adults of absent fathers, young men and women are the focuses of The Absent Father. Corey also discusses how he was driven to be successful due to his village of great people who assisted in raising him and his brother.

Carolina credits his mother for being the main inspiration in his life. She worked 12-16 hour days as a cosmetologist in order to raise her two children. While Corey was forced to be the man of the household at a young age, he remarked that he “felt that it was a privilege to help take care of (my) younger brother while (our) mother worked. ”

Corey started writing his book 8 years ago and now his life has come full circle. He now has fathered his own children with his wife Qianna, and takes his experiences with his absent father into account when ensuring that he is an active participant in his children’s life.

This event is open to the public and sponsored by CASA. RSVP to the event by calling 918-519-9338 or emailing Corey@CoreyCarolina.com
