Art In Miniature: Sapulpa Arts Annual 6×6 on Route 66 Art Show and Fundraiser is Tomorrow

Art in miniature continues to provide an opportunity for art patrons to add to their collection while supporting the Arts in Sapulpa.

All proceeds from the annual event help fund ARTeries free art classes for 55+ and Oasis Alzheimer’s residents, scholarships for Arts Explore! Summer Art Camp for students in second through seventh grade, Route 66 Blowout Art Show on June 4 at the Creek County Courthouse, Concerts on the Corner starting in June at Martha’s Corner, and much more.

This year the Opening Reception will also feature an Art Show highlighting the photography of Anje Vela, featuring images from around the world, and unique works by local artist Emmett, featuring superheroes, fictional characters and much more.

“I am always fascinated with the creativity artists put into the original works of art,” said Sheri Ishmael-Waldrop, director of Sapulpa Arts. “As they arrive each year it is hard to pick which one I would like to add to my collection. I have purchased seven, by seven different artists, since the event was started by Water Street Art Gallery. It is Sapulpa Arts pleasure to continue the tradition.”

Sapulpa Arts provides 6×6 inch canvases to area and regional artists to create Rt. 66 themed works, or whatever inspires them. It is open to all two dimensional artists who would like to participate.

Each of the one-of- a-kind 6×6’s will sell for $35, or two for $66, with all proceeds benefit Sapulpa Arts educations programs and scholarships. More than 60 original pieces of work are available at Sapulpa Arts, 101 E. Dewey, or Over Edukated 119 E. Dewey.
