Arrest made in connection with homicide of Sapulpa native

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) says they have made one arrest and are hoping for more in the homicide of Sapulpa native Alyssa Edlund in August.

Braulio Becerra Lopez

Braulio Becerra Lopez, 21, was arrested on October 20, 2021 in Tulsa County for First Degree Murder. OSBI says they are still searching for two other suspects accused of shooting 27-year-old Edlund and her boyfriend. Edlund died as a result of the shooting. Her boyfriend was not injured.

Edlund was described as an independent, strong-willed woman who loved hunting, fishing, and “the understanding and importance of wildlife conservation.” She was originally from Sapulpa, but living in Jenks at the time of her death.

The Haskell Police Department requested OSBI assistance on August 7, 2021 after an officer responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a shooting on N. Seneca Avenue in Haskell. Two vehicles were seen in the area at the time of the shooting including a black Chrysler 300 that was found to be registered to Lopez. The second vehicle, a silver Chrysler 200, has been recovered.

The OSBI is currently searching for the other two suspects who are not believed to be in the area.
