A New Sapulpa Gem: Spa Zen

For quite some time if you wanted a place to relax, unwind and pamper yourself or your loved one, you had to travel out of town. But that is no longer the case as Sapulpa added another small business to the roster earlier this month where serenity meets good energy at Spa Zen and Wellness Studio.

Spa Zen held its official ribbon-cutting with the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce on April 7th. “Spa Zen is the only esthetician or Spa that is currently a member of the chamber, and we are very excited that she chose Sapulpa for her business,” said Suzanne Shirey, President of the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce.

Shannon Logan, Owner, Esthetician

Esthetician and owner Shannon Logan is a licensed esthetician who has always been interested in skincare and natural remedies. “My goal is to impart my years of knowledge and help educate, improve and correct skin issues for people in our community.”

Spa Zen Wellness Studio provides MIO (Made In Oklahoma), natural, no paraben, no filler, no animal-tested products. Their services range from alleviating pain and stress to organic personal care. “We want to offer people chemical free and holistic alternatives,” said Logan.

Logan spent the better part of a year rehabbing the residence where her business is located. Each room is configured to offer true relaxation with an added touch not many spas have: natural light.  As someone who has frequented a spa or two, I would classify myself an expert, and for me, stepping into Spa Zen was like entering an oasis of serenity.

Logan has transformed the back patio into a quiet, shaded area perfect for hosting spa parties, bridal showers or just a day with the girls.

And let me be honest: “relax” isn’t a word widely used or embraced in my vocabulary but while performing my facial, Logan exuded the true calming energy that many Estheticians harbor. In the dimly lit room, soft relaxing music played and I was carefully nestled in a warm blanket where I nearly fell asleep while Logan looked over my skin and began my facial.

One of Spa Zen’s luxurious and comfortable beds.

Four days later, my skin is still aglow and I’ve already booked a second more intense yet gentle microdermabrasion facial which Logan and I discussed as a remedy for the sun damage I encumbered after years of running outside without sunscreen.

Kimi Beasely is also a member of the Spa Zen team and has been a licensed Esthetician for 11 years. Beasley is also passionate about skin care and thrives to deliver outstanding customer care. Kimi’s services range from facials and waxing to eyelash extensions. Futhermore, Kimi is a lash pro and the extensions she applied are what I would call a miracle considering I have the stubbiest eyelashes on the planet which require several layers of mascara. The lash application process takes time, but after an hour and a half of delicate care, I have the luxe lashes of my dreams, and I haven’t applied mascara since.

Logan’s vision for Spa Zen does not halt at spa services – she plans to offer outdoor and aerial yoga and hopes her love of wellness will rub off on the community in a positive way. In fact, Spa Zen is now booking custom spa parties from spray tans and lemonade to LUXfacials with wine and hors d’oeuvres.

With Mother’s Day and Teacher Appreciation right around the corner, Spa Zen is the perfect place to treat the woman in your life. Facials, body scrubs, tension relief massages, facial resurfacing peels or diamond tip microderm abrasions are all available. Look no further, Spa Zen Wellness Studio at 702 South Mission, has exactly what you need. Exactly what Sapulpa needs: a place to relax, recharge and renew.
