Creek County sees alcohol beverage tax go up “slightly” for January

The County Treasurer Don Engle commented that the amount of Alcohol Beverage Tax may be up slightly because of New Year’s partying. Regardless, the total amount going into the coffers for the month of January in Creek County is $33,059.52.  More than half that amount is from  Sapulpa at $18,546.39. Bristow ($3,805.15), Mannford ($2,777.00), Drumright ($2,624.93), were taxed at the next highest amounts of “beverages.” The least amount bought and taxed alcoholic beverages was in Shamrock ($92.57.)

The county fathers decided to exercise the option to upgrade the 2018 John Deere Skid Steer to a new 2019 model as the contract allows. For the nominal fee of $3,000, the option will be exercised, which will also extend the warranty another year and rid them of a piece of equipment that has been costing the county money in repeated repairs.

The next items on the short agenda were Inter-Cooperative Agreements between Creek County and a number of Rural Road Improvement Districts (RRID) in District 2; Edgewater Estates RRID in Mannford; Grant Street RRID off 91st St. north of Sapulpa, Sunrise RRID. These agreements bring them into compliance and attempt to get all the districts in agreement at the same time. Also approved is an Inter-local agreement with Freedom Hill Volunteer Fire Department Olive Volunteer Fire Department, and Oilton Volunteer Fire Department all in District 2 because the County “does work in their parking lots,” according to Commission Chair Leon Warner.
