Today’s high winds have been doing more than yanking the last remaining leaves off the branches of those trees still holding on during the unseasonably warm weather.
Currently, OG&E is reporting as many as 560 people that could be without power, including, at the moment, Youth Services of Creek County on Cleveland Avenue. According to their Facebook Page, they’ve been without power for nearly an hour.
In Drumright, the winds actually caused a building in the city’s downtown to collapse. The building has reportedly been in poor condition for some time. The collapse blew bricks and debris of the former Reynolds Beauty Supply and Tanning building into the street. There are no reports of injuries.
In Sapulpa, neighbors are contending with downed tree limbs and toppled trash cans. Even Jefferson Heights Elementary is getting in on the experience:
Weather analysts are saying the same intense storm system producing these winds could bring in a line of storms overnight that might turn severe. Stay weather aware folks.
