If there’s one winter event you don’t want to miss in downtown Sapulpa, it’s the Christmas Parade! Oh but wait! There’s also the Holiday Strolls going on during Thursdays! Yeah, that should be the one winter event you don’t want to miss…Oh wait, how could I forget the Sapulpa Christmas Cash Bash! That’s this week, too!

Dang. There’s a lot going on in Sapulpa this week, y’all. Here’s what’s happening.

Friday

SOLD OUT: Sapulpa Community Theatre‘s Holiday Hit “Twas the last mailing day before Christmas” has sold out for Friday and Saturday this weekend. At press time, there are still seats available for the Sunday Matinee, but you’d better get them soon. Call the theatre at 918-227-2169.

If you haven’t had your picture with Santa, you can still get one at The Sapulpa Equine Hospital on Friday from 1-4pm or Saturday from 9am – 1pm. The photo comes with a festive photo frame. All that’s required is a donation of any amount, which go to Joy in the Cause. 12226 Heywood Hill Road, Sapulpa. Call 918-224-6867 for more information.

Green Hill Funeral Home Chapel is orchestrating a heartfelt project called The Living Tree Memorial Program at 7pm. You’re to bring an ornament to hang on a tree to remember a loved one that won’t be able to celebrate with you this year. Registration will begin at 6pm and during registration Santa will be available for pictures with the young or the young at heart. You can bring new, unwrapped toys to place in our collection box that will be given to the Salvation Army. During the service we we will sing Christmas Carols, have the reading of the names/placing of the ornaments and have a candlelight remembrance. After the service stay and have cookies and beverages. This is a free community event.

Updated: Tickets for this event are not available at the door. They may be purchased at 19 N. Main, Sapulpa Community Resource Center for CASA. Start your day right with Breakfast With Santa Claus, a benefit for Creek County CASA at Sapulpa High School. Breakfast will be provided by IHOP and served from 9 – 10:30am. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids. There will be a performance from Ovations Studio and professional photos from Danziger Photography.

In concordance with Wreaths Across America, from 11am – 12pm there will be a short ceremony at Green Hill Memorial Cemetery to remember our fallen heroes, honoring those who serve, and teaching our children about the sacrifices made by veterans and their families to preserve our freedoms. The session will conclude with the laying of wreaths on the graves of Veterans. All attendees are encouraged to participate in the laying of wreaths.

Over Edukated has an Open Paint class called “Rustic Frosty” from 2pm-4pm Pricing and details here. They’ll also have their Student Art Show on Sunday from 2pm – 4pm. Come check out their talented students’ work!

And Saturday night at 6:00pm you’ll see one of the most anticipated events of the season: The Sapulpa Chamber Christmas Parade! This year’s theme is “A Cowboy Christmas” and will feature over 80 floats! Look for an upcoming story with a map of the parade route and a list of businesses that will be open to serve you during the parade!

Update—a new event! Praise Center Ministries will be featuring the beautiful sights and sounds of this sacred season immediately after The Christmas Parade. You’ll experience a flurry of holiday decor like you’ve never seen, live Christmas music and free hot chocolate, coffee and sweets. This event is free for all and family-friendly.

Sunday

One more time, for good measure: If you haven’t yet seen Sapulpa Community Theatre‘s showing of “Twas the last mailing night before Christmas,” you might be able to get a ticket for tonight’s showing. Give them a call at 918-227-2169 to get your tickets.

Nothing expresses the innocence, beauty, and tenderness of the true meaning of Christmas like the voices of children! 365 Kids! presents “An Out-of-the-Box Christmas” on Praise Center Ministries will have showings at 10am and 6pm. When boxes show up at a dress rehearsal with all the wrong costumes, the kids have no other choice than to think out of the box.

If you’re a gun enthusiast or collector, There’s a public auction happening at The Glenpool Conference Center on Saturday at 11am. Handguns & long guns will be available, including many collectibles. All available for inspection 1 hour before the auction and during the auction. More information on that event here.

Tuesday, December 15th is the day your life might change, if you win the Sapulpa Christmas Cash Bash. A total of 5 drawings will happen, one of which will net you an easy $10,000 in cold hard…a big check. All starts at Martha’s Corner at 6pm. See more details in an earlier story.

BONUS 2! (Because it’s the season to give, y’know).

If you have not yet been to the wonderful Downtown Holiday Stroll happening on Thursday evenings,  you have been missing out! Several downtown businesses stay open extra late to serve you, and while you’re shopping you can catch a Carriage Ride and of course, the Photo with Santa. Thursday the 17th is your last chance! Be there from 5-9pm.
