Sub-freezing temps won’t keep us from enjoying life! While schools have been closed all week due to the winter weather we’ve been having—and most local businesses as well—some are looking forward to the warmer weather this weekend as they gear up to kick off a few events!
Thursday, February 20th

6-8pm – Live Music at the James Calley Brewing Company with Wyatt Justice. Wyatt is an Oklahoma-based singer/songwriter. Debut single ‘Just Too Heavy’ out now wherever you listen to music!
Paint n Sip CANCELED
The previously scheduled “From Paris with Love,” Paint n Sip at Dancing Skeleton Meadery was canceled due to a lack of reservations caused by the winter weather.

Other area events for this week
We don’t usually include events happening outside of Sapulpa or Creek County, but a number of previously scheduled events were canceled due to the weather, so in the interest of helping you cure your cabin fever, here’s what else we found happening this weekend:
Tulsa Flea Market

Billed as “February 22nd, Snow Matter What!” the year’s first event is the beginning of their 53rd in business. Browse an eclectic array of antiques, collectibles, and memorabilia. Located in the upper level of the SageNet Center (Tulsa State Fairgrounds), the Tulsa Flea Market will be open from 8am to 4pm. Admission is free! More information here.
Friends of the Library Winter Book Sale of 2025 (OKC)

If you’re up for a road trip this weekend, the 2025 Winter Book Sale is open on Saturday and Sunday at the Oklahoma Expo Hall (3215 Wichita Walk, Oklahoma City) from 9am to 5pm. The sale is free to attend, with preference on Sunday given to older adults and those with a need for more time, less noise and less people. More information here.
Skywarn Storm Spotter Training (Okmulgee)

The goal of the training is not just to recognize tornadoes, but to have some understanding of storm structure, which in turn better prepares the spotter for the extreme and unusual circumstances. Other topics covered include an update on the latest NWS technology and procedures, ideas for organizing/coordinating spotter groups, severe weather reporting, and important safety considerations. The training is free, open to the public, and are conducted in-person. No pre-registration is required. More information here.
