What do you believe in? Who have you told?

Natural options and health care choices are so important to me. I have seen the power of nature and how the body can heal when it is given what it needs. I have also seen the power of pharmaceutical drugs and the positive and negative affect they can have.

While other states are losing their medical freedoms, last week some local friends and I met with our legislators, Senator James Leewright, Rep. Kyle Hilbert and Rep. Mark Lawson, to discuss our thoughts and experiences. Jaime Bongers told me, “Parental rights are extremely important to me. That is why I felt it was necessary to meet with my legislators and share our personal story. I tell my girls often how vital it is to speak and let their voices be heard. This week I got to show them how to do that. I greatly appreciate the humbleness our legislators brought into the meeting.”

I believe we all have different strengths, stories, and passions and when we come together it makes a whole. It’s important when you feel strongly about a matter that affects potential laws and the community to speak out. We are blessed with a great Senator and House Representatives who take the time out of their busy schedules to meet with their constituents. They want to hear from you so they can make the best decisions possible.

We are also blessed to live in Oklahoma but now more than ever it’s important to stand up for our rights, freedoms, and beliefs. If you are not registered to vote PLEASE do so. Every single vote matters and your vote is your voice. Don’t sit on the sidelines complaining about the turn our country is taking while not doing your part.

What’s one of the rewards of advocating for me? My eldest daughter exclaimed, “Mom, you really inspired me today, being an introvert and all. You stood up for what you believe in. I am proud of you.” We have the chance to impact future generations in more ways than one.

“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world…would do this, it would change the earth.”
