Twenty-six years ago, ten students decided to take action to make a difference at their school by gathering around the flagpole to pray for their peers, their families and their country.
This morning, millions prayed on their campuses around the country in an especially important event.
Among those millions were the hundreds of students that gathered at Sapulpa and schools in surrounding communities to participate in this years theme of “We Cry Out.”
The weather for it was great, if a bit chilly, and turnout was equally wonderful.
“These students led a prayer for the Sand Springs student body and the family of Swift Myers,” said Brandi Coffey, who had children involved in the event. “They prayed for the turmoil our nation is currently going through and they prayed for each other. Totally inspiring!”
Mike Lehew, Families Pastor at Foundations Church, was in Kiefer for their SYATP event.
“Over 75 students gathered together,” he said. “What an awesome site to see students worship and lead out in praying for their peers and school!”
