Todd Gollihare, a 25-year combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps and former Chief United States Probation Officer, announced last week that he is officially a candidate for state Senate District 12.
“I’ve given my life to fighting for freedom, defending the U.S. Constitution and protecting life and our conservative values,” Gollihare said.
Lieutenant Colonel Gollihare’s career as a Marine spanned two wars, four military campaigns and numerous operations in seven foreign countries. He is the recipient of several medals, including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal for his role as chief of operations for the Multi-National Force – Iraq. He also was previously decorated for valor in action while serving in operations Desert Shield and Storm as an artillery officer.
“Biden’s weakness on the world stage has left America vulnerable, and we must prepare here at home,” said Gollihare. “Improving our standing starts with protecting the heart and soul of our country, which is our conservative values. It’s time to put a stop to federal government overreach, election irregularities, ridiculous mandates and men in women’s locker rooms.”

A lifelong Oklahoman, Gollihare is a graduate of East Central University. He received a law degree from the University of Tulsa.
Gollihare lost his wife of 32 years, Melanie, to cancer in 2020. The couple raised three girls, Brette, Bailey and Brenna. Gollihare and his family are longtime members of Blue Bell Free Will Baptist Church in Sapulpa, Okla.
In addition to his military service, Gollihare served as the Chief Probation Officer for the United States District Court, Northern District of Oklahoma until his retirement in April 2021.
“I’m excited at the prospect of being back on duty serving my country and state,” said Gollihare. “You can count on me to work hard and hold the line for our God-given rights.”
