Hundreds of enthusiastic farmers left the market place yesterday satisfied…Hughes estimated that there were over 1,000 people at the event, the biggest attendance to date. The project will continue with the new year…Traffic three miles east of Mannford on highway number one was rerouted around a burning gasoline transport truck that caught fire early this morning. A motorist from Mannford here said the flames spread across the highway and residents assisted in routing traffic over a detour. The truck, a huge transport affair, was loaded with gas. The origin of the fire was not determined…The Pretty Water resort and water supply project was the prominent feature of the municipal program before city authorities today. Plans for the raising of the $600 necessary for the purchase of this site near Sapulpa were going forward today…The government proposes to spend $10,000 on this site and practically all of this expenditure would be put in circulation in Sapulpa and this immediate vicinity…”

“Family C, listed in yesterday’s Herald, has been adopted by the Order of Amaranth, and the number of needy families not yet cared for in the Sapulpa area has been reduced to 337. Today’s needy family-Family D- presents a special problem. The family consists of a woman with four small girls-three of the children are six-year-old triplets. Major Henry Van Dee of the Salvation Army describes the family in this manner: ‘This mother needs milk and food for her four little girls. The father is being sought by county officials on a child abandonment charge. This lady is having a hard time this Christmas. Someone adopting this family will receive a blessing in helping them and will do this family so much good.’…Meanwhile, the downtown Salvation Army kettles paid for five more baskets, making 25 of the 362 families taken care of. There are only 15 more collecting days to take care of the other 342 families.”
