Wednesday, October 27, 1915, Sapulpa Herald: Van Orman Bakery is Sold to W.F. Davis

“The Van Orman Bakery owned and managed by Mr. Van Orman in the rear of his feed store has been sold to W.F. Davis of Oklahoma City, a competent and experienced baker who is capable of taking over the trade built by Mr. Van Orman and continuing the excellent reputation of the concern. Mr. Davis will take charge of his purchase at once. The sale does not include the feed store which will continue to be managed by Mr. Van Orman as before.”

Thursday, October 27, 1927, County Democrat-News: Sapulpa’s Fifth Annual Hallo’en Carnival Oct. 31

“Let’s all go to Sapulpa Monday evening that is what you hear now all over Creek County as the word has gone out that the Junior Chamber of Commerce have all of their plans completed for making this their Fifth Annual Hallowe’en celebration the biggest yet. Several new features have been added for this year and the dancing will be in the Berryhil building, in the room formerly occupied by the Welch Clothing Store. The flooris good and an orchestra has been secured for the occasion and good order will be maintained throughout the evening…”

Thursday, October 27, 1977, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Mission, Lee Get Slurry Treatment

“North Mission St was blocked to traffic from Hobson Ave to Pfendler Ave today while a slurry seal coating was applied. Northbound traffic was being routed one block east to Adams-Ridgeway and southbound traffic was routed one block west to Division. Crews for the contractor, Rogers Trucking Co also were scheduled to begin work on Lee Ave from Main to Maple, although city officials said intersections across Lee would be kept open during the day. The seal program is aimed at preventing deterioration through cracks on streets which have curb and gutter and a substantially solid base.”
