Thursday, November 18, 1971, Sapulpa Daily Herald: City Trash Regulation Explained

“Sapulpa City Manager Rolin Snethen announced the following requirements pertaining to the placing of garbage, brush, trash, and pickups for collection by the sanitation department. It is required that garbage should be wrapped and be placed in tightly covered garbage cans…The Sanitation Department does not have the proper facilities to bundle tree branches and limbs in excess of four feet.”

Wednesday, November 18, 1981, Sapulpa Daily Herald: South Heights to Hold Rededication Service

“The South Heights Baptist Church will celebrate the completion of a year-long renovation project with a homecoming and rededication service Sunday, said Pastor Archie Rivers…In the project, which began in December 1980, a colonial front porch with access ramps for people in wheelchairs was added to the red brick building and the formerly unpaved parking lot has been surfaced with asphalt. The interior of the church has been completely paneled with dark, wood grain paneling, and an entrance parlor has been created by the addition of paneled partition near the back of the worship area. The former windows have been replaced with smaller, colored glass shadow box windows, and new carpets have been laid in the sanctuary…”

“The Sapulpa Schools want to take parents back to school this week with a course designed to boost student achievement by ‘uniting the home and school.’ Parent University, a series of mini-courses sponsored by Sapulpa Schools Community Education, is scheduled for Monday at Jefferson Elementary. Parents from Jefferson, South Heights, and Garfield are invited to attend. Adults will be able to choose instruction in several areas, including elementary drug awareness, self esteem, language development, the effects of divorce on children, homework strategies, and what is developmentally appropriate for kindergarten…”
