“Work on finishing the WPA courthouse lawn project was completed today. The lawn has been re-sodded with winter grass, bandstand repairs completed and steps at the southwest corner finished…Sheriff Lew Wilder and Lee Sider, court clerk, went to Bristow this morning and drew a panel of 40 jurors to serve at the superior court criminal and civil jury term standing there Dec. 4 upon call of Herbert Arthurs, superior court judge…Judge Arthurs requested $1,500 be set aside as the estimated cost for holding the jury term.”

“The Sapulpa BPO Elks lodge was honored Wednesday night when they had as their guest Marvin Fowler, district deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Oklahoma Central for this official visit to the judge. He is from Shawnee. A banquet was served in the basement of the lodge preceding the lodge meeting and it was attended by member Elks and their wives, there being approximately 200 plates served. The lady Elks were entertained in the beautifully re-decorated lounge of the club while member Elks attended the regular lodge meeting in the hall…”

Monday, November 17, 1969, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Burglary Haul Exceeds $1,350
“A burglary reported Sunday netted items valued at over $1,350 from a residence at 722 S Linden, while owner, Earl Holmes, was out of town. Robert Petitt, 512 ½ E Cleveland, Holmes’ brother-in-law discovered the burglary on Sunday. He told the police that Holmes had been away from the house since Friday. Police reports indicate that the house was entered by forcing a rear door. Items listed as missing by owner were a new color television, pistol, camera, clock radio, 40 record albums, clothing valued at $300, tools valued at $250, and various household and automotive items.”
