Friday, December 1, 1911, Creek County Republican: Cotton Market

“Within two weeks 200 loads of cotton from Mannford and the vicinity surrounding it has been brought here in wagon loads by farmers who are taking advantage of the high prices offered by the Sapulpa Cotton Ginning Company and other corporations here. On Tuesday, all Main Street was lined with wagons filled with the great Oklahoma product which goes to prove that Sapulpa undoubtedly the best market in the country…With Sapulpa being recognized in every corner of the county and with the cotton being brought here in a steady stream, everyone is profiting…”

Friday, December 1, 1911, Oklahoma Farmer and Laborer: Drug Stores Robbed

“A bold, bad burglar pulled off a couple of stunts last night, one being at the Frisco Drug Store and the other a few doors further north at the Steck Drug Store. The thief did not want anything except the cold hard coin with the Federal stamp upon it as he did not touch anything at either place except the cash registers…”

Thursday, December 1, 1977, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Sapulpa’s Yule Parade Saturday

“More than 100 units will be featured in the Sapulpa Christmas Parade which starts at 10 am Saturday…Theme for the parade, sponsored by the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce, is ‘Fulfillment of a Promise.’ Morris Galloway, chairman of the chamber’s trade development said the grand prize float will win $175, with $125 for the first prize float, $100 for second prize and $75 for third…”

“A New prosecutor was named Monday to handle the grand jury investigation now underway in Creek County District Court. Bill Roberson, Pottawatomie County district attorney, was reappointed by Gov. Henry Bellmon to take the palace of Creek County district attorney Lantz McClain…Creek County grand jury is in part investigating the Creek County Sheriff’s Department’s role in the Artie Stanton murder trial. A possible conflict of interest was cited for McClain as the reason for his leaving the prosecutor’s post…”
