Monday, January 30, 1933, Sapulpa Herald: Sapulpa Dairy and Health Departments Set Example of Excellence for State

“Sapulpa is setting a standard of excellence in its dairy operations and health administration, it was learned today from county authorities. ‘There is a widespread interest among city officials, dairymen and health departments throughout the state in the methods used in Sapulpa in the regulations of milk supply,’ Dr. A.C. Frampton, dairy inspector, stated this morning. The various state and government inspectors and field men connected with the health and dairy departments are advising delegations of the cities of Oklahoma to make a trip to Sapulpa and find out how to protect the health of their communities through insuring a safe and wholesome milk supply, and at the same time build up the dairy industry in their trade territory…”

“A meeting concerning the Sapulpa District Fair will be held on Thursday evening, Jan. 30, at 7:30 in the Court House in Sapulpa. This meeting is being called to discuss any improvements or changes in the Fair Program. The Horse Show, in particular, has some problems to be ironed out for this year’s fair…”

Thursday, January 30, 1958, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Math Contest is Planned for Area High School students

“To further interest in mathematics, a contest for high school students in Oklahoma and Arkansas will be held March 27, sponsored by the Mathematical Assn. of America and the Society of Actuaries. Harry N. Carter, associate professor of mathematics at the University of Tulsa, and chairman of the contest committee in the Oklahoma-Arkansas district…Material for the examination is limited to elementary algebra, plane geometry, and intermediate algebra, and questions are multiple choice…The sum of the three highest ranking scores will serve as the team score for the school, and a bronze cup will be awarded to the school in the area with highest team score…”

Friday, January 30, 1981, Sapulpa Daily Herald: C of C Banquet Marks 50th Anniversary

“A crowd in excess of 300 persons helped the Sapulpa Chamber of Commerce commemorate its 50th year of service to the community last night at its annual banquet which was held in the high school cafeteria. Highlights of the frequently humorous evening were the passing of the gavel from outgoing chamber president Joan McKenzie to newly-elected president Dr. Dennis Morris, and the unveiling of an oil portrait painted in the likeness and as a tribute to the late and former chamber president, Guy L. Berry, Jr…Upon welcoming the audience to the chamber’s special observance, emcee Ed Libermore singled out the recent hostage event as an ‘indication of what can be accomplished with a little patience and understanding.’…The new officers are Morris, president; Charles Lake, first vice president; Stan Taluc, second vice president; and Dr. Robert White, treasurer. Directors with a two-year term to serve include Dick White, Greg Pugmire, Dwight Maulding, Lloyd Fulks, Rusty Franklin, Roger Collins, and Bradd Bingman.”
