“‘Everybody out’ for the first big Sapulpa Sewing Club meeting which will be held at the Salvation Army hall at 2:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, January 15, say the women who have taken up the work of…citizens of this community to ward off the possibility of an epidemic of ‘flu’ or other diseases and sufferings resulting from a poorly clothed and unnourished populace. Announcements concerning this move will be made in all city churches tomorrow. For further information interested people are requested to call any of the service committee members listed…”

Monday, January 12, 1925, Sapulpa Herald: Ambulance is Brought Here

“Oren Landrith, of the Lewis-Landrith Undertaking Company, returned last night from Chicago, driving a handsome new Packard ambulance of the latest type which will be in use by the company hereafter. The trip from Chicago was made without mishap, according to Mr. Landrith. The new ambulance is a fine addition to the Elm Street establishment and is expected to greatly advance the service the company seeks to give.”

Sunday, January 12, 1969, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Court System ‘New’ But It’s Mostly Same Faces

“A new era begins Monday for Creek County’s judiciary system, but for the most part courtroom faces will be familiar ones. Major change under the revamped Oklahoma court system which takes effect Monday is the elimination of justices of the peace. In their stead will be special judges of the District Court-except the number will be greatly reduced.  The court reform plan written by the last Oklahoma legislature after a vote of the state’s people establishes various judicial zones within which the district courts operate. Creek County is in the East Central Zone with nine other counties…Four special judges will then be appointed for the zone, including one for Creek County, with Clyde Patrick, former Creek County attorney, in line for the appointment…”

Friday, January 12, 1979, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Kellyville Tries Anew on School Bond Plan

“A $320,000 school bond proposal will be voted on Feb. 20 by Kellyville school parsons, who in the last 14 months have rejected two similar proposals. The latest proposal is for a smaller amount than the two previous bond issues, which were defeated by voters in November 1977 and June 1978. Proposed for the special February election is a $320,000…construction of five high school classrooms, four elementary classrooms, and a band building. The high school addition would be built on the east side of the present high school building at an estimated cost of $136,500. The elementary classrooms would be constructed on the west end of the new elementary building at an estimated cost of $67,500. Construction of a band building is proposed on the old elementary school site at an estimated cost of $45,000…”
