“The Fourth War Loan drive in Creek County and Sapulpa has already gone over the top, figures revealed today-but not in Series E Bonds, Guy Berry, chairman announced this morning. ‘While this looks good from one standpoint, there still are some loose ends to pull together,’ he stated. Series E quotas have not been met, neither over the county nor in Sapulpa. The total investment in bonds today was $1,129,875 for the county as a whole, against a quota of $1,127,000. A total of only $445,780 E Bonds for the county was in, against a quote of $649,300. Over $200,000 are still out. Sapulpa has gone over the top on its general bond investments, too, with a total of $565,289, against a quota of $563,500. In the E Bond bracket Sapulpa is behind by about $53,000 and Sapulpans were urged to reach their quota in this bond series at as early a date as possible. Sapulpans have bought a total of $271,368 E Bonds, against a quota of $324,500. Lon Jackson, city chairman, praised Sapulpans for their response but urged them to see the clearance of all issues through. Berry was optimistic over a completion of all series quotas by next Tuesday. The bond drive will be concluded February 15.”

“About 400 supporters, including Glen Johnsn, speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, turned up Thursday night to honor Rep. Mike Tyler on his 50th birthday. It was also a night when Tyler formally kicked off his 1994 campaign for office…And they all spoke highly of Tyler, praising his abilities as well as his capacity for long, hard hours…After all the kind words, Tyler spoke: ‘This humbles you. It is such a genuine pleasure to serve this district…in this district, we care for each other. It is rewarding to represent you and I want to give you someone who really cares…’”
