Sunday, December 31, 1950, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Sapulpan Wins Police Post
“Stephen N. Terry, of Alameda, CA, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Terry, 412 N 10th, has received an appointment to the Albany, CA police force. He will take over his new post January 1. He completed one and one half years of training including the study of criminal and civil law, to be eligible for the post. He topped the list of high 70 out of 270 who took the course, and was top men out of 18 who took final tests before being eligible for appointments. Prior to taking up this course the former Sapulpan completed four years training with the United Filter Company under the GI bill in Oakland, and for the past three months has been on the University of California police force. He served 3 ½ years on the USS Tennessee in the Pacific during World War II.”

“Wednesday morning, Sapulpa Radiator Shop will have been moved into its new location at 105 S Water. The firm’s new building will be that formerly occupied by the OG&E warehouse and for the past several months occupied by the pick up station of Sunshine Laundry and Dry Cleaners. Sunshine will continue to use a portion of the building. Sapulpa Radiator Shop, operated by A.L. Bradley Jr. and Pat Bradley, was opened at the corner of Hobson and wAter in 1945 and has been in continuous operation there for these past 11 years. The shop’s new location will give added space for radiator repair and sales. Sapulpa Radiator specializes in cleaning and repairing all types of radiators, automotive, and industrial.”
Tuesday, December 31, 1963, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Interurban Builder Dies
“Former Tulsa Mayor Dan W. Patton, who helped lay out the original townsite for Tulsa, died Monday night at his home. He was 78…Patton was just 16 when he came to the area to help an older brother, Gus Patton, lay out the original townsite. Gus was Tulsa’s first city engineer and Dan was his assistant in 1904 and 1905. The younger Patton later was a civil engineer in Sapulpa and Poteau, where he served as mayor. He built a railway in downtown Sapulpa and an interurban line to the oil fields to the south. In 1917, he returned to Tulsa and built an interurban line from Tulsa to Sapulpa.”
