Tuesday, September 9, 1969, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Red Cross After Sapulpa’s Blood

“A goal of 150 units has been set for Sapulpa at the Red Cross bloodmobile’s quarterly visit to town Wednesday. Donations will be taken at the OG&E club room 19 N Main. Sapulpa participants in the Tulsa area Red Cross blood bank and officials note that local residents traditionally have received more blood from the bank than they have donated. Persons between the ages 18 and 66 are eligible.”

Wednesday, September 9, 1981, Sapulpa Daily Herald: County-OSU Pact Okayed

“The Creek County Commissioners met Tuesday in their regular weeking meeting and the board approved a $42,638 one year contract between itself and the Oklahoma State University extension center. The Commisoiners received a request for approval of the 1981-82 fiscal year contract and the request was granted. The contract is between OSU of Agriculture and Applied Sciences acting for and on behalf of its cooperative extension service…A site agreement between the city of Sapulpa and the nutrition department was signed by the board, plus an agreement between Slick and the nutrition department was also signed by the commissioners. The county clerk’s report for August 1981 was approved, the request by the county clerk for $5,000 of revenue sharing funds was tabled and an issue on outside usage of the OSU Extension Center was also tabled…”

Sunday, September 9, 1984, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Bartlett Has ‘Cat’ Scanner

“Improvements at Bartlett Memorial Medical Center are advancing the hospital into an elite circle of Oklahoma hospitals. The hospital began using a mobile CT scanner Tuesday, and already, the need for the new equipment has been proven. The $1.5 million scanner performs ‘cat scans’ which like x-rays are used to examine the body for disease. The rig containing the scanner is parked in the hospitals’ south parking lot…The availability of the scanner in Sapulpa allows many patients to stay at home to have the scan rather than travel to Tulsa for the same test. The ‘CT’ stands for computed tomography, which is literally what the scan does. The scan is a computerized method of examining a body for infirmities and is also an aid in eliminating some causes for those infirmities…They would continue bringing the equipment to Sapulpa each week as long as there was a need…”

Sunday, September 9, 2012, Sapulpa Daily Herald: Council Approves Admission Charge

“On Monday night Sapulpa City Council approved the collection of an admission fee of $1 for entry into the Booker T. Washington Recreation Center for the annual youth basketball program. This is part of the revenue policy. This won’t raise a tremendous amount of money…reviewing the minimum age limit to charge admission into the youth basketball games hosted at the BTW Recreation Center. The Park Board has recommended that admission be charged at a rate of $1 for those 12 and over. Revenue generated from admissions will help defray some expenses by the City to host events…”
