“Enrollment of both high schools show a gain over last year. All teachers for the public school system are to be here Friday morning for a general teachers meeting at the high school…The teachers will have meetings by buildings, and classes will start next Tuesday, when students in the grades will enroll. High school students have completed their registration showing a slight increase in numbers over the last year…”

“What bears early promise of growing into an important new addition to Sapulpa’s industrial selection was announced today, when it was revealed that an assembly line manufacturing unit had selected this city as its location and planned to move here as soon as a suitable location is found. The new industrial plant will assemble butane appliances for sale throughout the nation. R.C. Tucker, owner, resides as president in Tulsa…Plans were studied to engineer other items using butane or liquified petroleum gas, such as floor furnaces, hot water heaters, and allied appliances…”

“The Sapulpa Herald had a steady stream of visitors Monday, as residents visited the newspaper offices in connection with the 50th anniversary of Creek County’s only daily newspaper. Many of the Herald’s 50-year club members, persons who have read the newspaper since it was begun, were among the visitors. The presentation of pagoda jars prepared especially for the newspaper’s golden anniversary by Bartlett-Collins was being carried on at a brisk pace throughout the morning. The jars, complete with a duplication of the newspaper’s front page, still are being given away to every family for free…”

“Surfacing of Mission Street got underway Friday from the Dewey Street entrance, but the project will be in progress several days from Dewey to Lincoln, so students at Sapulpa High School will have to use access from the north and east to get to school when classes begin Tuesday.”
