It’s the last full week before Thanksgiving Break, and though the football season is now over, it feels like sports are just getting rolling! Let’s talk about what’s coming up.
Football
The Chieftains fell to Grove last Friday in the 1st round of playoffs, ending their season at 7-4. We are very proud of the team and coaching staff for all that they accomplished this year. We are excited to see all of the post-season awards that begin to roll in for the team!
Now that football is over, fall sports have officially come to an end. We are very proud of all of the accomplishments that all of the teams achieved this year. We are so looking forward to winter sports (basketball and wrestling) to begin now! And wouldn’t you know, spring sports officially begin practice on December 1!
All Sport Passes
We still have student and adult all sport passes for sale in the athletic office. These are such a cost saver and allow you to attend SO while saving you money. We have 34 home events for just winter sports (JH-V basketball and wrestling). If you attend all 34 home events, that will cost you $170! (tickets are $5 across the board to get in to home events for winter sports). Student all-sport passes are $20 and adult passes are $50. That’s a lot of money to save!
Dinner Theatre
This year’s dinner theatre will be on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 6 pm in the Woodlawn Theater. Tickets will be $10 and can be purchased from Mrs. Linder with Culinary Club or from Mrs. Braswell. Also, they will be doing a dessert theatre on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2 pm in the Woodlawn Theater. This is new! Tickets will be $5.
Choir
Congratulations to Avery Johnson and Maggie Lawson for making the 2023 All-State Choir! Maggie & Avery were both All-State Choir members last year as well. They will perform at the Tulsa PAC in January!
Upcoming Dates
- Wrestling senior night: January 31 (High school gym)
- Mid-winter court: February 3
- Basketball senior night (we will recognize cross country senior this night, too): February 7
- Employee of The Year celebration: February 14
Stay warm and make it a great week, Chieftains!
