As part of an ongoing effort to keep the community informed of local events that support Sapulpa’s businesses and organizations, Sapulpa Times has shifted it’s Facebook marketing strategy from a “Share our stuff all the time” approach to more of a shotgun method that promotes the events of our town and surrounding communities.
The response has been tremendous, leading to an aggressive growth in Likes, Views and Engagement. Sapulpa Times brought on a new team member, Tena Webb, to spearhead the growth as the Digital Community Coordinator. She’s faithfully updating the Sapulpa Times Facebook Page with events and news from community pages and groups.
While the flurry of activity brought in a lot of awareness to all the events happening in not only Sapulpa, but places like Kiefer, Kellyville and Bristow, it also became glaringly obvious that Sapulpa Times needed a place to put all of it’s events in one location where they could be filtered and searched.
With that in mind, we made some major changes to our Events Calendar this week. The updated Events Page now has views for not only a list of events, but a monthly calendar view and a map view, giving you at-a-glance insight of where all the action is this month.
In addition to the new views, Sapulpa Times also has the ability to sort and filter events by venue, the day of the week and even the time of day. Want to see all the events in the evening at the Elk Lodge? Done.
And for those of you who want to be sure your events show up in our calendar, simply let us know by filling out this form and we’ll get it added for you. Here’s a tip—if you already have your event on Facebook, that makes it even easier.
