It was more than just the final day of the school year for one Sapulpa High School teacher.
It was a day in which his teaching career and his military career intersected. And for good reason.
Ray Markley was recognized during a luncheon at the high school for his military service in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was awarded The Meritorious Service Medal.
The Medal is awarded to a member of the United States armed forces who distinguishes themselves by either outstanding achievement or meritorious service.
Sergeant First Class Raymond P. Markley served a 30-year career as an Army Reserve Career Counselor. He was honored for his dedication and selfless service which “contributed to the success of each unit in which he served.”
Markley teaches courses in English, Academic Achievement, Communications, and Media Production.
