A Tulsa Community College dual credit student was selected as the winner of this year’s holiday card contest. Jaylen Grisier’s artwork, titled “Winter Break”, was selected from more than 25 entries to be featured on the TCC 2023 holiday card.
Grisier is a homeschooled high school senior as well as a second-year TCC student majoring in digital media with a graphic design specialty. She lives in Sapulpa with her family and is the eldest of seven siblings.
Grisier crafted the design with colored pencil on paper. She said she wanted to illustrate books and computers that students take home when they go on winter break, while keeping the focus on TCC.
“I wanted to show how nice it is to give studying a break during the holidays. Then I caught a glimpse of my lanyard and knew how to make it uniquely TCC,” said Grisier. “Art has been a part of my life forever. As a child I wanted to write and illustrate books. I hope that wherever my career takes me, creativity can always be a part of it!”
“Jaylen’s art puts an original perspective on the textbooks and school supplies we see daily as students prepare for the end of the semester,” said TCC President and CEO Dr. Leigh Goodson. “We look forward to seeing what Jaylen’s creativity brings into the world and are appreciative for the talent of all who entered the annual holiday card contest.”
In addition to her design being used on the holiday card, Grisier was awarded $500 from the TCC Foundation.
