Sapulpa Schools moves to Distance Learning ahead of Tuesday’s winter weather

Sapulpa Public Schools has decided to transition to Distance Learning for Tuesday ahead of the winter weather conditions expected starting February 18th.

The statement was made via an email and phone call to parents on Monday just after 12pm. School officials said they were moving to distance learning in light of the “Winter Storm Warning and an Extreme Cold Warning for our area.”

“Decisions have not been made for Wednesday or the rest of the week, but we will notify you of changes as soon as possible.”

Multiple weather experts are predicted 4-6″ of snow for the Tulsa area. Bartlesville could see as much as 10″, while further south, Okmulgee should see closer to 3″.

The storm will begin as sleet early on Tuesday morning, and then as the colder area moves in, the sleet will transition to snow, which will continue throughout the day into the evening.

Dear parents and guardians,

Sapulpa Public Schools will be in Distance Learning on Tuesday, February 18 due to a Winter Storm Warning and an Extreme Cold Warning for our area. Snowfall is predicted during the school day on Tuesday. Decisions have not been made for Wednesday or the rest of the week, but we will notify you of changes just as soon as possible.

Secondary students will log into Schoology to complete assignments and elementary students will work from learning menus sent home or posted online.
