Sapulpa Public Schools will kick off their “Routes to Success” speaker series next week with News On 6 Storm Chaser Ron Morton.
Morton, who is a Branch Manager for TTCU Federal Credit Union in Muskogee, is described by SPS as a “very active member of the community,” citing his involvement in the Muskogee Chamber of Commerce Youth Leadership program, his positions as Treasurer for the Muskogee County Youth Services Council, and for the Muskogee Public Safety Authority.
Morton will be at Waypoint Lounge on February 19th to share his story with Sapulpa students and their families who’d like to learn more about Morton’s journey.
Although he’s worked for TTCU for 18 years, he’s more popularly known as a professional Storm Chaser for KOTV Channel 6 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. According to SPS, Morton has been chasing storms throughout the Midwest for over 30 years.
The Routes to Success Speaker Series is specifically designed for Sapulpa students and their families, as they bring in industry leaders from a wide variety of fields to “share how they got where they are today.” According to the SPS, “each speaker brings not just expertise, but a story grounded in experience, perseverance, and a connection to the communities that shaped them.”
Future speakers in the series will include State Representative Mark Lawson and local Entrepreneurs Rachel Porter (Ovations Dance Studio) and Shawnna Fedderson (Gameday Couture).
Registration is free but required. See sapulpaps.org/speakerseries to learn more.
