Sapulpa Public Schools is alerting parents to another round of winter weather that may affect classes, and will certainly affect basketball games scheduled for next week.
The upcoming winter storm is predicted to bring 2-6 inches of snow and should hit Tuesday. Wednesday will see a high of just 15 degrees and it won’t get above freezing until Friday afternoon.
President’s Day is Monday, which means school will not be in session. In a statement on Facebook, Sapulpa Public Schools says they are as of now in session on Tuesday but are rescheduling Tuesday’s basketball games and Senior Night at the Chieftain Center for Monday evening, February 17th.
The JV Girls game is now Monday at 4 pm, and JV Boys at 5 pm, Varsity Girls at 6:30 pm, and Varsity Boys, at 8 pm. Senior Night will be between the two varsity games.
In addition, the Secondary Parent-Teacher Conferences and FAFSA Night will now be held on Monday, February 24.
In the past, Sapulpa Public Schools has moved classes to Distance Learning in the case of inclement weather or severely cold temperatures. With most of next week expected to be below freezing, it’s possible that the only day Sapulpa Public Schools would have classes in person would be on Tuesday.
“We are closely monitoring the winter weather forecast and will notify you of any changes just as soon as possible,” the statement said.
