Sapulpa Price Mart offers self-service sushi

Shoppers at the Sapulpa Price Mart may now purchase ready-to-eat sushi. The store has partnered with Hissho Sushi, a North Carolina-based food company that makes restaurant-style sushi available to consumers in venues such as neighborhood grocery stores, airports, and universities. They are the second-largest sushi provider in the U.S. and have 2,200 locations in 42 states.

Specially trained local chefs prepare a wide variety of rolls fresh each day, made with premium ingredients that are responsibly sourced. The final products are kept at the proper temperature in a closely monitored refrigerated unit. Any product that is not sold is thrown away each evening.

Contrary to popular belief, not all sushi is made with raw fish. Chef Zin Thanz says that only 10% of the prepared meals contain raw fish.
