Sapulpa Historical Society cancels their December Open House

The Sapulpa Historical Society has made the decision to cancel their December 11th Open House event, according to an official statement sent to Sapulpa Times.

The Sapulpa Historical Society responsible for the day-to-day operations of one of Sapulpa’s best attractions: The Sapulpa Historical Society Museum. Located at 100 E. Lee, the museum features multiple floors of exhibits of Sapulpa’s rich history.

In what appears to be a concern for the rise in COVID-19 cases, and an effort to keep everyone “safe and comfortable,” the organization has decided to cancel the Open House, and to tentatively reschedule the volunteer luncheon that they had planned to sometime in the spring of 2021.

We’ve included the full statement below.

We truly appreciate people wanting to visit the museum, mingle with the volunteers and workers of the museum, especially during the holiday season. It has been a tough year for everyone, and the end of the year is no different. We wish we could have had the chance to celebrate the end of the year with a cheerful holiday get-together; however, we want everyone to be safe and comfortable. Therefore, the Sapulpa Historical Society will be taking precautions during this holiday season.

We regret to inform you that we will be cancelling the Open House that would have been Thursday, December 11th. We are also rescheduling the Volunteer Luncheon that would have been Wednesday, December 10th. We are not sure of the date for the postponed luncheon yet, but we wish to have the luncheon in the spring of 2021.

The Sapulpa Historical Society and friends wish you a safe, cheerful, and healthy holiday season. Please take care, and we will see you again next year. Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your support.

Thank you,
Sapulpa Historical Society, Inc.
