In the fall, the Sapulpa FFA officer team sat down to set goals for the 2025-2026 school year. At the top of their list was having students complete the “Making Things Better Program.”
This program, started and sponsored by Wes and Lou Watkins, challenges FFA members to complete five community service projects between August and March. Students who complete this program are recognized at the State FFA Convention in May.
Sapulpa FFA strives to make a lasting impact in its community by completing as many community service projects as possible.
Sapulpa FFA hosted the first community service project for the year by building, assembling, and donating 20 Thanksgiving meal boxes. The boxes go to families who may not otherwise get a Thanksgiving dinner. These boxes included turkeys, various sides, and a pumpkin pie kit.

Sapulpa FFA partnered with the Chieftain Cares Program to bring this project’s vision to life. “Chieftain Cares” is a local organization, run by Sapulpa Public Schools, that serves as a food bank and clothes closet to students and families who need help.
The first step in accomplishing the goal was hosting a food drive for students. Members were tasked with bringing the listed food items, and even competed between agricultural education classes.
Students then decorated the boxes, created a coloring and activity book for children, and included encouraging holiday-season notes.
At the November chapter meeting, 40 members stepped up to help build the boxes.
Sapulpa FFA is incredibly proud of the selfless members who helped families this holiday season.
