The City of Sapulpa is proud to announce that City Manager, Joan Riley, was recently elected President of the City Management Association of Oklahoma (CMAO).

The CMAO is designed to promote efficiency and aid improvement of city administration across the state and provides information on matters of interest or concern to all local governments.

In addition to being a clearinghouse for best practices and solutions for common challenges facing cities in Oklahoma, members of the CMAO stay abreast of legislative issues and present a unified voice to legislators on issues facing local governments.

Joan has been Sapulpa’s City Manager since May of 2016 and has been a member of CMAO since 2010.

“Being able to network with other city managers is invaluable,” she says. “Whether the members are from a small town or a large city, we all face similar issues and we find new and innovative ideas of how to deal with problems each time we get together.”

Joan will lead CMAO into the next phase of progress in the same impressive manner she has led Sapulpa.
