Reed Architecture adds interior designer, intern architect

Reed Architecture and Interiors has hired interior designer Adriana Broaddrick and intern architect Cassidy Cecilia Teel.

“We are very excited to welcome Cassidy and Adriana to our team,” said Reed Architecture principal and founder David Reed, AIA. “Cassidy proved a valuable team member as a summer intern, and Adriana is just like family, bringing a great deal of experience and energy.

Teel worked with Reed Architecture in the summer of 2022 while a student at Oklahoma State University’s School of Architecture. She achieved her degree in December.

“I love the sense of community at Reed,” said Teel. “It’s a very positive environment.”

Broaddrick, a 2010 graduate of OSU’s College of Education and Human Sciences, draws extensive knowledge of Reed’s culture through her husband, Bryan, an architect Reed Architecture hired in 2017.

“I thought this was a great opportunity,” she said. “We are looking forward to working together! In our house, we are a really good team. We bounce ideas off each other and try to find the best approach to any problem or design ideas.”

In addition to nine years of interior design experience, Adriana brings a knowledge of landscape architecture to Reed Architecture. In 2012, Broaddrick received her master’s degree in horticulture from OSU with an emphasis on landscape architecture.

“My work often involves the design and the interaction of interior spaces with exterior spaces,” she said. “I enjoy figuring out how we can make that transition, how these spaces may coexist.”

Family interests led Teel into architecture. Intrigued by her sibling’s OSU studies, Teel tried an elective architecture course at Tulsa Union High School. That pleasant experience led her to pursue that degree.

“I like to design buildings that improve people’s lives,” she said. “Architecture can unite communities and give people inspiring places to fulfill their dreams.”

Adriana Broaddrick

Broaddrick developed her architectural interests while growing up in Venezuela. Her family heritage led her to OSU.

“My dad is an Oklahoma State graduate,” she explained. “He achieved his bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering there. He fell in love with Oklahoma State University. One of his dreams was to send his kids to Oklahoma State, so he did!”

Broaddrick came to the Stillwater campus at age 17.

“It was a little intimidating to be in a country where I didn’t speak the language, but I was up to the challenge to learn, and the best way to do that was to be immersed in the culture,” she said. “I had a roommate who didn’t speak Spanish, so I learned the culture with her help. The people in our dorm were very welcoming, and we bonded and have maintained that friendship to this day.”

These additions represent Reed Architecture’s third new hire in 2023. Last month Reed added intern architect Joshua Helms, who as a student served the firm alongside Teel last summer.

“We are grateful they have decided to serve with us our clients, our team, and our community,” said Reed. “They are a welcomed addition to our team and have embraced our culture of teamwork, trust, respect, fun, and joy.”
