A lot of Sapulpans are waking up to Father’s Day without power this morning, after a powerful storm system rolled through Sapulpa shortly before midnight on Saturday.
According to OG&E, around 9,600 residents in Sapulpa are currently without power, though it seems to be largely to the north and east. Both QuikTrips in Sapulpa are currently without power, but most businesses west of Watchorn Avenue are up and running. Downtown has power.
OG&E no estimated time of restoration as of now.
There are lots of tree limbs and at least one major tree has fallen in Sapulpa. The Crutchfields live on Bixby Street near Taft Avenue and had this towering tree fall last night, missing the house, power lines and vehicles.
Storms ripped through metro Tulsa with 100 mph winds, with lots of damage, including uprooted trees, damaged homes and downed power lines. Sapulpa seems to have gotten by without the turmoil seen in certain parts of Oologah and Tulsa.
