An 18-year-old man has died after crashing his truck into a house while fleeing police early Saturday morning.
“My sister said it sounded like lightning,” said Ana Rodriguez, whose family lives at the site of the crash.
At around 1:30 am, a man reportedly named Vladislav Soden, was being pursued by Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers through a neighborhood near 141st and Elwood in Glenpool. According to the family, Soden went into the cul-de-sac behind them and then ran through the backyard, crashing into their living room.
Rodriguez says Soden died on impact, and that another passenger was arrested at the scene. A second passenger ran from the scene and had not been found as of 4:00 am this morning.
Rodriguez frequently stayed the night at the house and would have been sleeping in the living room. Luckily, she wasn’t there that night. “it would’ve killed me,” she said. “My brother-in-law said it sounded like a bomb went off.” She says he got up to see what had happened and saw the passenger that later fled the scene.
Rodriguez says they haven’t been told why the police were pursuing Soden. The cause of the crash has not been released.
