PHOTOS: Oklahoma Highway Patrol tickets driver on turnpike using furniture dolly to support trailer

“Don’t try this at home!”

Oklahoma Highway Patrol is warning drivers to learn from another’s mistakes after Trooper Joe Spears encountered a bizarre case of redneck engineering on the Turner Turnpike last week.

According to a post on the OHP Facebook Page, the officer pulled over a driver near the Kellyville exit on the Turner Turnpike after realizing the vehicle was pulling a trailer with one of the tires missing.

In place of the missing tire, the driver had chosen to rest the trailer on a furniture dolly and proceeded to drive it on the Turner Turnpike.

“It quite obviously was not working,” the statement said on Facebook.

The driver was given a warning for “defective tires,” and a ticket for driving with a suspended license. OHP says he called a friend to haul the trailer away.
