Officers say a bench warrant is likely to be issued to the owner of a dog accused of attacking three people, and biting one.
Tina Provence, the owner of Kevin—a dog previously described as a “canine repeat offender”—did not show up for court on Monday, July 26th. The fine for this violation is $265.
As reported by Sapulpa Times, Kevin, was removed from the premises and subsequently quarantined for 10 days at an undisclosed location. The dog was then returned to its home prior to a scheduled July 19 municipal court hearing to determine the disposition of this case. Court was postponed due to the judge being ill and was rescheduled for Monday, July 26.
Daryl Howard, who lives across the street and was a victim as well as a witness to the attacks, was disappointed by the owner’s no-show. The Municipal Judge would have determined whether Kevin would be deemed a “vicious animal.”
According to Officer Sellers, who is in charge of animal control, barring any adjudication as a dangerous animal, the dog is permitted to stay at the residence as long as it is confined.
