Oklahoma cases of COVID-19 now at 2,680; Creek County at 68

As of Monday at 11:00 AM, there are 2,680 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in Oklahoma. 

Oklahoma is now at 2,680 confirmed cases of Coronavirus.

There are three additional deaths; one occurred in the past 24 hours and the other two died between April 12-April 16: Two in Cleveland County, both males in the 65 and older age group; One in Caddo County, a male in the 50-64 age group. There are 143 total deaths in the state.

Creek County has slipped from the County with 4th-highest number of confirmed cases to 9th-highest, with a total of 68 cases and 4 deaths.

The Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) is partnering with the Choctaw Nation to open a drive-thru testing site beginning today in McAlester. A list of other testing sites in the state can be found here.

Two additional COVID-19 testing sites are open in Tulsa today, April 20, thanks to partnerships between the OSDH, Oklahoma State University (OSU) and the University of Oklahoma (OU). Information for the OSU-Tulsa site can be found here. Information about the OU-Tulsa site is available here.

In his daily update report, State Representative Mark Lawson said that more than $300 billion in additional federal funds is being considered for the Paycheck Protection Program, which grants loans to businesses with 500 or fewer workers that are forgivable if workers are kept on the payroll. The program’s initial $349 billion was quickly depleted due to intense demand after it was launched last month. Congress and the White House are approaching a deal that could lead to a vote this week on the package, which may also include additional money for hospitals and testing.
