Zarek Fanning

Zarek Hunter Fanning was born January 13, 2000, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Joseph and Charity Fanning.  He passed from this life May 20, 2022.  He was Sapulpa High School 2018 graduate and worked at Pool Creations as a tile setter.  His life on earth was short, but very full, complete and productive, touching many people.

Zarek was a very free spirit, who loved riding his motorcycle and the outdoors.  He dreamed of visiting the Colorado mountains.  He was smart, funny, silly, and always making people laugh. He was caring, genuine and easygoing.  He and sister Kamry were like twins born 2 years apart, so much alike and so in synch with each other, always looking out for each other no matter what came their way. He also loved his cats (and other critters)!  His family and friends are very proud of the amazing and outstanding man he was becoming.

Zarek loved his fiancé, Tamara Melanie Rain Braggs, his high school sweetheart. They were building a good life together, looking forward to becoming parents in November 2022.  He was so excited that he was going to be a dad.  Already the best “Uncle Z” to his nephew, he was going to be the most amazing dad ever.

Zarek was a very gentle, tender hearted young man and chose to spend a great deal of time with his mother, whom he loved with all his heart.  He loved his dad very much and wanted to be with him as much as time would allow.  He was also a loving and beloved grandson to his grandparents.  Zarek loved his whole family and made being with them a top priority.

The lives that Zarek touched will never be the same without him.  We know that he is in heaven now with his and Tamara’s little baby Nemo and is smiling down on all of us forever from heaven.

Zarek is survived by his: fiancé, Tamara Braggs; parents, Charity Fanning, Joseph Fanning and his partner Jodi Wood-Workman; sister, Kamry Ward and husband Travis; nephew, Arthur Ward; grandparents, Lee Fanning, Curtis and Kimberly Tuley, Peggy Jean Howell Redden; and a very large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins too numerous to name individually.  He was preceded in death by his great grandparents; his Papa, Nubbin Fanning; grandfather, Danny Collins; and his first child, lovingly called baby Nemo.

Memorial services will be 7:00 pm, Friday, June 3, 2022, at Praise Center Ministries in Sapulpa
