Winford Adams

Winford “Windy” Lee Adams 83, of Kellyville, passed from this life on June 16, 2019. He was born March 26, 1936 in Sapulpa to Oscar and Leona Adams. Windy, as he was affectionately known because of his ability to tell some pretty big fish tales. He had a true passion for fishing. Windy was a very religious man and lived a Godly life. He had a kind and giving heart. He often would help his neighbors with projects or with anything they needed help with. He helped start the Volunteer Fire Department in Checotah, another example of his giving heart.

Windy proudly served his country with the United States Army. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Marksman Badge (Rifle), Expert Badge (Sub Machine Gun) and his Sharpshooter Badge (Carbine). He took great pride in being an American and great pride in the United States Army.

Winford “Windy” Adams is survived by his loving daughter Stephanie Baldridge and her husband Jim of Tulsa; grandchildren Stephen Vaughn and his wife Paige of Bixby, Kristin Dahl and her husband Erick of Dallas; two great-grandchildren Valarie and Victoria; sister-in-law Jeanne Adams; nephews Brett Adams, Scott Adams and Ronnie Adams; nieces Sandy Adams and Jeane Adams.

Windy is preceded in death by his wife, Norma June Powell Adams; one son Brad Adams; his parents Oscar and Leona Adams; three brothers Harold Adams, Gerald Adams and Richard Adams and one sister Amy Adams.

The family would like to thank Miller Hospice for their care and especially Pam Jarmin a cousin, who was his caregiver for the last seven months and gave him special tender attention while Stephanie was working.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at 12:00 p.m.in the Traditions Funeral Chapel, 35 S. Main Street, Kellyville, Ok. Burial will follow at the Kellyville City Cemetery. Services will be under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services,
