Willita Cox

Willita Rae (Lemaster) Cox, passed away on Friday, June 14 at Clarehouse in Tulsa. She was better known as ”Peet” and was born on December 1, 1932 to William and Ruby Lemaster in Bristow, Oklahoma. She graduated from Beggs High School in 1950 and attended Draughon’s School of Business in Tulsa before beginning her clerical career at American Airlines, where she met and then married D. M. (Mike) Cox on April 5, 1952.
Peet and Mike were lifelong members of Glenwood Assembly of God Church (now known as Cross Pointe Church) in Sapulpa.
Peet was pre-deceased by both of her parents, her husband, one daughter, one sister and two brothers. She is survived by one son, Keith Cox of Sapulpa, two daughters – Marie Cox of Jenks and Tricia Ikard (Todd) of Waxahachie, Texas. She is also survived by two sisters – Ila Gaddy of Skiatook and Eva Gleason (James) of Beggs, 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation/Viewing will be held at Smith Funeral Home, Sapulpa on Tuesday, June 18 at 1 p.m. and the memorial service will be immediately following at 2 p.m. Entombment will be at Green Hill Mausoleum.
The family would like to express appreciation to the following caregivers: Ranch Terrace Nursing Home (Sapulpa), Emerald Care Center (Tulsa) and Clarehouse (Tulsa). We would also like to express our deepest appreciation to A-VOW Hospice for their compassionate care for Peet over the past several months. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to A-VOW Hospice, 2400 Hemlock Circle, Broken Arrow, OK 74012.
