Walter Wayne McGuire, known to many as grandpa, or papa to his grandchildren, 79 of Bristow passed away March 20, 2020. Wayne was followed in death, a short 23 hours and 45 minutes later, by his bride on March 21, 2020. They were both surrounded by their surviving daughter and grandchildren at the time of their crossing.
Wayne was born June 11, 1940 to Walter and Tressie McGuire. He worked at Oral Roberts University, along with his wife. Wayne retired after working for 34 years and Sally for 24 years. Wayne enjoyed whistling, training dogs, riding horses and bulls, which he rode in parades.
Sally Ann Holt, known to many as grandma, 79 of Bristow was born May 21, 1940 to Rollie and Myrtle Holt. Sally enjoyed cooking, sewing, making prayer cloths, and talking on the phone.
Wayne and Sally married August 9, 1961 in Neosho Missouri. They spent fifty-eight years of their life, working together, caring for each other and visiting every Wal-Mart and public park within driving distance! They enjoyed taking mini vacations with their children and grandchildren. They enjoyed exploring Silver Dollar City on their motorized scooters, going to equine shows, sale barns, various zoos and safaris, the Dixie Stampede, and the novelty of staying at hotels. Both Wayne and Sally attended Kellyville Holiness Church.
They are survived by daughter Vicky Smart and husband Chris; grandchildren whether by blood or by heart, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters and many family and friends.
They are preceded in death by their children Elizabeth McGuire, Billy McGuire and Brenda Auld; great-grandchildren Brendan Cozart and Grayson Cozart.
Services will be 10:00am, Tuesday, March 24, 2020 at Kellyville Holiness Church, 728 S. Main, Kellyville. Arrangements are under the direction of Traditions Funeral and Cremation Services.
