Funeral Services for Wanda B. (Kinzie) Kightlinger of Sapulpa will be held at 10 am on Monday, August 27, 2018 at Foundation Church, Sapulpa, OK under Direction of Smith Funeral Home.
Wanda B. (Kinzie) Kightlinger was born July 26, 1921 North East of Alva on a farm, to Guy and Audrey Kinzie. She passed away at Sapulpa, OK at the age of 97.
At the age of two they moved into Alva, she attended school there through high school, then went to NWOSU, graduated in 1943. During the college years she also taught piano and spent one Summer at St. Louis Institute of Music. In 1943 she married, Robert L Kightlinger at Amarillo, TX where he was stationed in the Air Force. They had met at NWOSU. From this union 3 children were born.
They lived on his parent’s farm at Quinlin, OK after the War, and then moved to Sapulpa, OK. In the 60’s Wanda worked as bookkeeper for DX Sunray and in 70’s, 80’s, & 90’s she worked as driver’s license agent at The Sapulpa Tag Agency.
Being a dedicated Christian, she was active in her Sunday school class and Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lynn; two daughters, Carol Bringardner and Linda Mason.
She is survived by a son, Robert and his wife, Peggy of CA.; a brother, Wayne Kinzie and his wife, Beverly of Alva; and a sister Elva Lu Hasty and her husband Glen of Aline; grandchildren, Bryant Mason of Sapulpa, Jennifer and Hank Werland of Texas, Kristen and Tom Houghendye of MA., Jeremy and Lynette Bringardner of C.A., Ben and Erin Bringardner of TX; and 7 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation with family at Smith Funeral Home from 3-5 pm on Sunday, August 26, 2018.
Memorials may be made to Ridgeway Baptist Church or Flowers at your choice.
Burial will be held at Alva OK Municipal Cemetery on Monday, August 27, 2018 following funeral services.
